It’s more fun at Alta Vista 15th Fun Golf Tournament this weekend at AVGCC fairways

CEBU, Philippines - It’s more fun at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club this weekend with the staging of its 15th Fun Golf Tournament.

Formerly known as the Christmas Fun Golf Classic, this year’s edition offers close to P2 million in total prizes.

A signature plaque for the overall lowest gross, overall lowest net and top three players based on net scores for class A, B, C and guest division along with the seniors, super senior, ladies and dependents categories will also be given away.

Making it more fun at AVGCC’s second major event of the year is the prizes at stake for a hole-in-one.

A P100,000 is up for grabs for an ace in holes 2 and 13, P200,000 for holes 8 and 15, a Club Car golf cart from Pacsports for hole 8, a hotel accommodation at Marco Polo Hotel and Movenpick Hotel in Mactan Island, a travel ticket from Marist Royal Holidays Travel and Tours, a residential lot from Sta.Lucia Realty Development Incorporated on hole 15, all par 3s will get either a motorcycle from Norkis Trading Company and P150 thousand gift certificate from PAGCOR.

Those who can hit an eagle will get a motorcycle from Nitos (Skygo) International Ventures, Inc. If no one can achieve such feat, the prize will be raffled off during the awarding ceremonies.

“Despite the economic situation, we are able to hit our target and make this a fun Christmas golf tournament,” said Oly Dychanco during a press conference at AVGCC yesterday.

While the event organizers guarantee a fun-filled weekend for the participants, there are also several organizations and schools that will benefit from this charity event.

AVGCC general manager Nimrod NL Quiñones said P200 of each participant’s registration fee will be donate to charity. The benefiaries include Sisters of Mary, The Freeman Foundation, ERUF, and public schools around Pardo.

AVGCC will also be giving away  bundles of joys to nearby community especially in time for Christmas.

Close to 300 entries are expected to show up and join the event.

However, there are still some slots left for those who are interested to join the competition.

Registration fee is pegged at P2,700 inclusive of a travel bag and golf bag rain cover worth close to P3,000.
