To avoid dehydration, Herbosa advised the public to drink lots of water instead.

The occurrence of  dangerous level of heat  this Summer Season could lead to heat exhaustion and eventually heat stroke.

Health experts said children and the elderly are at higher risks of suffering from heat stroke or when the body overheats and cannot cool down by sweating because of dehydration and humid environment.

Among symptoms of heat stroke are warm and flushed skin, faintness, dizziness, weakness, headache, very high fever of 41 C, rapid heartbeat, convulsion, and unconsciousness.

Herbosa also advised the public to wear light-colored and loose clothing as well as avoid exposure to sun from 10 AM to 4 PM.  (CEBU NEWS)
