Rama wants bigger cash aid for non-teaching personnel
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama wants public school teachers and non-teaching forces in the city to have uniform financial assistance from the city government.
In the past, teachers received P10,000 in financial assistance from the city’s coffers every December while the non-teaching force got P5,000.
During the Department of Education-Cebu City General Assembly, Rama, according to the city’s PIO, promised around 300 non-teaching personnel from 126 public schools to increase their financial aid.
Rama said that from P5,000, they will soon be getting the same amount received by the teachers.
The mayor does not want any distinction as well in DepEd just like what he wants at the City Hall as he also hopes that job orders be given cash bonuses as they too deserve it.
The mayor also instructed a representative from the employees union to work on the papers for these non-teaching personnel for the increase.
Such development was widely welcomed by the non-teaching personnel.
Even though the mayor is yet to formally sign the increase, they already felt Christmas came early. (FREEMAN)
