CEBU, Philippines —  A businessman, who is said to be a financier of a casino in Mandaue City, was arrested last Tuesday after several firearms were recovered at his residence in the municipality of Argao, Cebu.

The police identified the suspect as Rolando “Titing/Enting” Pantinople, 46, a resident of Sitio Malacorong, Barangay Usmad, Argao, a town in the southern part of Cebu Province.

The police had served the search warrant that Regional Trial Court-Argao Branch 26 Judge Noel Darren Damian had issued against the suspect at past 5:00 a.m. last Tuesday.

A joint operation was conducted by the operatives of the Mandaue City Police Office City Intelligence Unit and its Special Weapons and Tactics, as well as personnel of the Argao Police Station.

The operatives also recovered a Montero SUV that was allegedly used as a getaway vehicle when a certain Conrado Cosares was shot dead in January this year.

Among the items seized were one M16 assault rifle (BushMaster), two shotguns, one caliber .22 rifle with silencer, two caliber 45, one 357 revolver and assorted magazine and bullets. — GAN (FREEMAN)
