Gwen on Duterte: My respect for him remains
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia urged Cebuanos to continue their support for the present administration, showing the nation how united Cebu is.
“Busa kini akong mensahe, dili lamang alang kaninyo, sa tanan. Kay nag-away away naman, kung kita mosuporta kining kasamtangang gobyerno sa administrasyon, awayon na ta ngano man? Nawala ba akong respeto ni Presidente Duterte? Wala. Nadungog ba ninyo bisag usa lang ka pulong, bisan og usa lang ka pulong pagdaot kaniya? Wala,” said the governor, in her campaign sortie in Sibonga town.
This as the governor explained that she knows what a debt of gratitude is.
“Kay ako kamao motan-aw og utang kabubut-on. Niadtong 2019, sa dihang nagtinguha mobalik pagka gobernador, kinsa iyang giendorsar? Way lain, si Gwen Garcia,” she said.
Garcia added that even Vice President Sara Duterte does not say any bad words against her.
“Ang atong bise presidente karon, duna ba koy gilitok nga makadoat kaniya? Wala. Ug dili g’yud ako makaako, tungod kay lagi niadtong 2019 iya usab ako giendorsar,” the governor said.
Garcia added that in today’s election Sara is not running while the former president is running for mayor in Davao City, and Cebuanos cannot vote for them.
“Apan wala modagan karon si Sara Duterte. Nidagan man tuod ang kanhi president Digong apan nidagan pagka mayor sa Davao, dili mo makabotar. Ug busa nganong kinahanglan awayon? Kining election una, maoy atong atubangon. Dili ta mosunod sa makanunayong sayop niadtong mga politiko, buot modaog niining mismong election pero ang giplanohan na ang sunod,” said the governor.
Garcia narrated that during the last 2022 elections, everybody knew she supported President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Cebu delivered over 1.5 million votes for the Marcos, the most votes in the entire country.
“Dili ni kabahin kung kinsay loyal ni President Duterte o ni President Marcos kay wa man modagan silang duha. Sila diay? Dili. Kita man kay local midterm election,” she said. (CEBU NEWS)
