PRO-7 seizes P244M worth of illegal drugs in Q1 of 2025

CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office-7 has intensified its anti-drug campaign, conducting 1,688 operations that led to the seizure of illegal drugs valued at over P244 million from January 1 to March 12, 2025.
Authorities confiscated a total of 35,927.64 grams of shabu, amounting to P244,307,952, along with marijuana worth P179,694. These efforts resulted in the arrest of 1,922 drug suspects, including 124 classified as high-value individuals.
PRO-7 regional director Police Brigadier General Redrico Atienza Maranan lauded the dedication of law enforcement personnel in dismantling drug networks and ensuring public safety in Central Visayas.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and sacrifice of our law enforcement personnel and the continued support of the public. Let this serve as a strong warning to those involved in illegal drugs—we will not stop until we put an end to this menace. We call on everyone to stand with us in this fight for a drug-free future,” Maranan said in a statement.
The regional police office reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum of the campaign, emphasizing that relentless operations will continue against individuals and groups engaged in illegal drug activities. — (FREEMAN)
