CEBU, Philippines — After news broke out of him being arrested in Mandaue City, Cebu for allegedly causing trouble following a drinking session, TV actor Baron Geisler has released his side, saying a lot of wrong information has been spread on the incident.

In his Facebook page, Geisler said he chose to break his silence due to the unverified facts spreading about his arrest last February 22, 2025.

"There’s a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting. Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion," he said.

"I want to make it clear—I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly. To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything," his statement added.

On the other hand, Geisler did not provide further details on the incident.

Geisler was detained for a few hours on February 22, starting at around 3 a.m. at Police Station 6 of the Mandaue City Police Office after reportedly causing chaos following a drinking session.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Mercy Villaro, public information officer of MCPO, confirmed in an interview with The Freeman the other night that Geisler was placed in the custodial facility of Station 6 (Canduman Police Station) for a few hours.

Villaro said Geisler was released from the facility after paying the P500 fine at Mandaue City Hall for violating City Ordinance C.O. 11-2008-434 (Drunkenness).

Villaro said Geisler had been drinking with his in-laws. The 42-year-old actor is married to a Cebuana and a resident of Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

“Si Baron with his in-laws nag-inom ni sa ilang balay ra sad unya nahubog, nanghagis, nagmaoy. Ang iyang brother-in-law asked somebody to call the police. So, mao to niresponde ang mga pulis,” Villaro earlier said.

Villaro said no one was reportedly hurt during the incident.

The Freeman reached out to Geisler through Facebook immediately after police confirmed his arrest, but there was no response as of press time. — (FREEMAN)
