Bong Go joins Cebuanos in celebrating the Sinulog

CEBU, Philippines — Senator Christopher  Bong  Go extended his heartfelt solidarity to the participants and organizers of the annual Sinulog Festival in Cebu City, held to honor the revered Santo Ni o last Sunday.

Senator Go, along with thousands of devotees and tourists, joined the Grand Parade in the streets of Cebu City which culminated in a Grand Finale and Fireworks display held at the Cebu City Sports Center.

In an interview, Senator Go expressed his deep joy in experiencing the vibrant culture of Cebu. He also reiterated his unwavering support not only to Cebuanos but to all Filipinos.

"Happy Sinulog Festival po sa lahat. Bilang isa ring bisaya, nandito lang ako parati para sa ating mga kababayan. Maraming salamat sa inyong pagtitiwala sa akin. Patuloy akong pagseserbisyo sa inyo at masaya ako na mag-Sinulog kasama kayo. Pit Senyor!  Senator Go greeted.

Aside from joining the festivities, Senator Go took the opportunity of his visit to bring government services closer to Cebuanos through his various advocacies and initiatives.

As the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, he led the inauguration of the newly constructed Super Health Center in Moalboal, Cebu earlier that day. This Super Health Center is equipped to handle primary care services, medical consultations, and early detection of diseases. It aims to reduce the burden on larger hospitals by addressing healthcare needs at the community level.

He also visited the Malasakit Center at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC). During the visit, the senator inspected the operations of the Malasakit Center in the hospital and expressed his continued support for improving healthcare services in the province.

The Senator and his Malasakit team also provided various forms of support for patients, health workers and hospital staff during his visits to the Super Health Center in Moalboal and the Malasakit Center in Cebu City.

As Vice Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Go highlighted several projects he supported in Cebu City. These include the rehabilitation and expansion of the Barangay Multi-Purpose Building Area at Barangay Duljo Fatima and the construction of the Multi-Purpose Building in Bahay Silangan

For Cebu province, Go also supported various development projects in numerous localities such as: rehabilitation and concreting of the farm-to-market roads in Alcantara, Balamban, Borbon, and Medellin; construction and renovation of public markets in Alcoy, Carcar City, Consolacion, Naga City, Ronda, and Samboan; and the construction and renovation of of multi-purpose building in Alcoy, Argao, Balamban, Bantayan, Barili, Carcar City, Cordova, Ginatilan, among others.

The Sinulog Festival, which draws thousands of devotees each year, remains one of the most anticipated religious and cultural events in the country.
