Rainy week leading to Christmas Day

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Jackets and umbrellas will come in handy over the next few days as the weather forecast for Cebu predicts cooler mornings and some rain showers.

Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CCDRMO) weather consultant Engr. Oscar Tabada has advised the public to wear jackets or thick clothes and to bring umbrellas, particularly those attending the dawn masses or Misa de Gallo starting tomorrow, December 16 to 24.

In the nine-day special localized weather forecast shared by Tabada for the city of Cebu and the rest of

Cebu Province, rain showers are expected starting tomorrow morning, December 16, followed by light to moderate rains in the afternoon, then cloudy skies in the evening.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain, with coastal waters projected to be slight to moderate.

On December 17, the morning will be cloudy, while December 18 and 19 are expected to bring cloudy skies with occasional rain showers.

For December 20, the forecast predicts cloudy skies with light to moderate rains in the morning, while December 21 and 22 will bring cloudy weather with light to moderate rains, which may occasionally become heavy.

On December 23 and 24, overcast skies are foreseen with occasional rain showers in the morning.

“Bring umbrella and wear jackets or thick clothes ang isul-ob kay bugnaw ang early morning,” Tabada said.

Aside from the nine-day forecast, Christmas Day itself is expected to be cloudy with occasional rain showers.
