PCSA wants CPA general manager to stay on

CEBU, Philippines — The Board and members of the Philippine Coastwise Shipping Association, Inc. (PCSA) are endorsing the continued tenure of Cebu Port Authority (CPA) general manager Francisco Comendador III.

The PCSA, in their letter addressed to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., said Comendador has performed admirably since he started with the CPA last July 13, 2023.

“In that span of time, we were able to measure his compassion in the management of the CPA and addressing the various challenges it has been facing. His experience as a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman and a Barangay Chairman of Barangay Jubay, Lilo-an, Cebu, and eventually being a Sangguniang Member of the Municipality of Lilo-an, Cebu for four terms show his excellence in management skill most especially on the human resource sector which is vital in port administration,” part of their letter read.

PCSA, lead by its chairman Lucio Roger Lim, Jr. and president Paul Rodriguez, also said Comendador has also experience in the private sector, since he was previously employed in the management in one of the port stakeholders previously operating with CPA which familiarized him to essential port operations.

“We continue to trust in his dedicated work and we are very certain and assured that if he continues to be the General Manager of CPA, CPA will be the most beneficial to his skills and experience in the Authority's port administration particularly in Cebu province,” the letter further read.

The PSCA is the biggest ship owners and ship operators group in the country today with more than 50 members and operating more than 800 vessels serving thousands of passengers daily and transporting cargoes nationwide. -
