CEBU, Philippines — At least 40 Cebu graduates made it to the top 10, with three of them securing the Top 1 spot, in the September 2024 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, whose results came out yesterday afternoon.

The three new licensed teachers are from Cebu Normal University (CNU).

“Ako na gyung gi-pray nga ma-topnotcher ko before pa ko ni-graduate sa CNU,” she said.
She graduated as Summa Cum Laude and her batch’s top 1.
She said that with the knowledge she gained from CNU, she wants to give back the opportunity she was given.
“Thankful kaayo ko sa CNU kay grabe kaayo ang training sa CNU. Like, from midterms to final exam. Actually, daghan kaayo’g nanggawas pag-board exams nga related sa among subject pag-second year pa nako,” she said.
Andan shared that her parents, who were both school principals in different schools in Ronda town in southern Cebu, inspired her to become a teacher as well.
She said she witnessed how her parents were loved by the people, especially the kids around them, which inspired her to take the course.
With her unwavering belief that all her blessings come to God, Andan persevered by adding novena to her routine.
In fact, she said, a few hours before the results were released, she prayed fervently.
Andan said that ever since, her goal is to be a teacher so she could help children understand, even with their varying learning capacities.
“Ako nga gatuon before naa man guy usahay nga naay usa ka strategy nga di ko kasabot, so akong promise sa akong younger self nga if ako ma-maestra I will make sure nga tanang mga bata nga naay lahi-lahi nga learning capacity ma-cater nako,” she said.
Regarding her future plans, Andan shared that she has enrolled herself and will be taking a Master's in Educational Management because she wants to follow in her parents' footsteps and become a school principal herself.
