Capitol opens P17.6M worth of infrastructure projects in Tudela
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Provincial Government has officially opened three infrastructure projects in Tudela town, Camotes Islands, valued at P17.6 million.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia led the inauguration of various development projects in the municipality on December 11, wherein two of which were funded with assistance from the Capitol.
Tudela Mayor Greman “Jojo” Solante showed Garcia through the town’s newly renovated two-storey legislative building, which is valued at P6.4 million.
The renovation includes new tile flooring, an improved ceiling, and various facilities essential for the operations of the municipal council.
Solante said that the funding for the improvements was sourced through various forms of assistance from the Capitol during meetings and province-wide activities.
Later that evening, Garcia also led the ceremonial switch-on of Tudela’s “vintage lamps” project, which lights up the municipal plaza and extends along the highway to southern Poblacion. The LGU allocated at least P2.8 million for the improvement, which was also sourced from the same Capitol assistance.
On the other hand, Tudela's newly inaugurated disaster risk reduction operation center was blessed during a ceremony.
The said project received P8.4 million in funding from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), as Tudela qualified for the grant.
Last June 26, around P13 million worth of Capitol-funded infrastructure projects was also inaugurated in Tudela town. The inauguration of the projects included a driveway with three gates around the municipal building worth P5 million; another P5 million worth LED wall installed at the town’s plaza; and a P3 million perimeter fence for the municipal compound. — (FREEMAN)
