CEBU, Philippines — Police Regional Office-7 seized 15.7 kilos of illegal drugs amounting to ?102 million in a two-day operation against illegal drugs from November 22 to 24.
Within the said period, the PRO-7 also reported that they arrested 99 individuals in their anti-illegal drugs campaign.
PRO-7 also arrested 108 individuals with 84 cases filed in their 84 anti-illegal gambling operations and seized ?9,121 in bet money.
They also arrested a high-profile drug dealer in Cebu City last Monday evening. This meticulously planned buy-bust operation resulted in the seizure of 1.1 kilograms of illegal drugs valued at ?7.4 million in Second Street, Happy Valley, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
The operation was a collaborative effort between the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.
In addition to the drugs, authorities recovered several pieces of evidence, including bundles of buy-bust money, a backpack designed for concealing and transporting illegal drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
According to reports, the suspect served as a drug courier, operating primarily in Talisay City and Cebu City. He was capable of disposing of one up to two kilos of drugs per month.
The seized items have been submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit for analysis, ensuring a thorough examination of all evidence involved.
PRO-7 officer in charge Police Brigadier General Roy Parena commended the dedicated operatives for their exemplary efforts and unwavering commitment to this operation.
“We are fully committed to pursuing and apprehending the main drug suppliers to eradicate the ongoing drug problem in Central Visayas. Our operations will continue with unwavering determination until every individual involved is held accountable for their actions,” Parena added. BRP (CEBU NEWS)
