CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City’s Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP) is set to recognize outstanding homeowners’ associations (HOAs), their officials, and other stakeholders in this year’s Urban Poor Solidarity Week set on the first week of December.
DWUP executive director Ronald Anthony “Butch” Librando said the activity aims to recognize the work of the city’s HOA in cooperation with the city’s programs for the aspiring sector.
“Usa sa atong activity kay kaning recognition sa atong homeowners’ association, HOA presidents and officers; and NGOs nga nitabang sa atong urban poor,” said Librando via the city’s Sugbuanon channel.
HOAs will have to pass through several requirements to be included in the said awards. Aside from that, HOAs will be judged based on their participation in the city’s programs for the aspiring sector.
“Daghan tag gi-require aning atong mga model HOAs, ilabi na kung sa ilang pagdumala sa ilang association. Kanunay ba silang nanglimpyo sa ilang komunidad, naa ba silay klase-klaseng nga activities, o’ aktibo ba ang ilang mga officials ilabi na sa mga activities sa city,” added DWUP assistant head Armando Alburo.
Aside from the awarding of the most outstanding HOAs, several other activities are also lined for this year’s Urban Poor Solidarity Week with the solidarity walk as its concluding event on December 7.
