CEBU, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu has again surpassed its October revenue collection target.

BOC-Cebu reported that it has collected a total of P4,658,731,476.67, exceeding its monthly collection target of P4,565,290,000 by P93,441,476.67 or 2.05%.

BOC Cebu District Collector Romeo Allan R. Rosales attributed this achievement to the collective efforts of the entire Port of Cebu team.

Our collective efforts are a testament to the Port of Cebu s commitment to excellence and efficiency. Meeting and surpassing our target is not only a reflection of our hard work but also of our continuous improvement in customs operations and trade facilitation, Rosales said.

Rosales added that their diligent efforts in monitoring and assessing importation activities, coupled with strategic measures to curb smuggling and ensure proper customs valuation, have significantly contributed to the success.

The Port of Cebu continues to play a vital role in facilitating trade and protecting the country s borders while ensuring lawful revenue collection.

Rosales said that the latest feat underscores the port's efficiency and dedication in delivering on its financial targets amid the challenges in the trade environment.

BOC Subport of Mactan Port Collector Gerardo Campo also thanked all men and women of the port and all their stakeholders who collectively contributed to be able to meet their collection target for October.

The subport ended the month of October with a total revenue of P185,396,112.94, exceeding its target of P127,260,000 resulting in a positive deviation of 45.68% or a surplus of P58,136,112.94. — /FPL (FREEMAN)
