CEBU, Philippines — RJ Dinolan delivered a double-double as the Steadfast Builders downed Purexfit Cebu, 98-88, to book a semifinals ticket in the Elite Division of Mandaue’s Pride Basketball Association (MPBA) Commissioner’s Cup Season 3 at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) gym.
Dinolan scattered 28 points, 19 rebounds, four assists and a steal for Steadfast, which will face the top seeded Artera Builders in the Final Four next week.
Prince Matt Carin tallied 21 markers, while Miguel Gastador and Genald Inigo added 12 and 10 points, respectively, to help Steadfast overcome a scintillating 34-point show by Purexfit Cebu’s Keanu Ray Limana.
Denniser Mark de la Cerna finished with 25 points Rhadie Azarcon had 10 points in a losing effort for Purexfit.
In the Premier Division, Welec dealt the twice-to-beat Void with a severe 106-53 beating to forge a rubber match in their semis duel.
Francis Montebon and JM Sabal combined for 47 points, Carlo Bacalso scored 20, while James Truz banged in 18 points underscoring Welec’s balanced attack.
Isiah Nanoy paced Void with 18 points, while Jomarie Bacalso and Joshua Encabo netted 23 points in between them but to no avail.
