CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City acting mayor Raymond Garcia has instructed the City’s Local Finance Committee (LFC) to include honorarium-based barangay workers, including daycare teachers, in the Christmas bonuses under the Supplemental Budget 3.

Garcia bared this during the Family Day 2024 for daycare and child development workers in the 80 barangays, together with their respective families, as reported by the City’s PIO.

“Ako-a nang gihatagan og instructions ang Local Finance Committee nga ipaapil sa Supplemental Budget No. 3 ang Christmas bonus alang sa ato-ang mga daycare teachers ug ang tanan nga nagdawat og honorarium, makakuha na gyud og Christmas bonus gikan sa siyudad sa Sugbo,” Garcia said.

The acting mayor, however, clarified that this has to go through the City Council for approval before such a bonus will be given.

For the meantime though, Garcia raffled off 50 sacks of 25-kilos of rice during the event.

Garcia also thanked the daycare workers for all the hard work they have put in for the welfare of the children.

“Salamat kaayo sa inyong gibuhat para sa atong mga bata kay nahibaw bitaw gyud mo nga ang atong mga bata maoy kaugmaon sa atong dakbayan sa Sugbo ug maoy mopuli diri kanamo isip mga leader sa atong pinalanggang siyudad. Salamat sa tanang daycare teachers,” Garcia said. — (FREEMAN)
