CEBU, Philippines — A 29-year-old man was shot dead while refueling his motorcycle at a gasoline station in Barangay Balabagon, Moalboal, Cebu, Tuesday afternoon, August 26, 2024.
John Aventurado, a resident of Barangay Tigbao, Badian, Cebu, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Police Staff Sergeant William B. Irag, the investigator handling the case at Moalboal Police Station, reported that the victim had a heated argument with the gunman before the shooting happened.
Aventurado was rushed to Badian District Hospital but did not make it alive.
A worker at a nearby glass shop, Roland Beriarmente Torino, 32, a resident of Barangay Balabagon, Moalboal, Cebu, was also injured after a stray bullet hit him in the stomach.
Police have already identified the suspect but refused to reveal the name pending an ongoing hot pursuit operation. The suspect was allegedly spotted in his residence yesterday morning but was able to elude arrest.
“Pagkabuntag sayo, sighted pa ang suspect sa ilang balay dayon wala gani kaabot og 30 minutes giadto dayon namo sa area, ang nahabilin ang inahan ragud,” said Irag.
Police investigators have yet to establish the motive of the killing. FPL (CEBU NEWS)
