CEBU, Philippines — A total of 25,177 students in Camotes Island were among the beneficiaries of this year’s Balik Eskwela Program of the Cebu Provincial Government.
The students from the towns of Poro, Tudela, and San Francisco received school supplies and hygiene kits from the Capitol.
According to Sugbo News, the Capitol’s official media arm, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia led the distribution of the aid during another round of the Caravan of Government Services in Camotes Island last Saturday, August 17, 2024.
The Capitol, through the Provincial School Board chaired by Garcia, has allocated P389,999,050 for the program this year to provide school supplies and hygiene kits to public school students in the province.
The school supplies include papers, pencils, ball pens, crayons, school bags, plastic envelopes, rulers, sandals, and T-shirts.
The hygiene kits contain toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and alcohol.
Students from the independent city school divisions of Carcar, Toledo, Naga, Talisay, Mandaue, Danao, and Bogo are also part of Capitol’s program.
Also present during the distribution were fifth district Board Member Mike Villamor, Tudela Mayor Greman Solante, Poro Mayor Gary Rama, San Francisco Mayor Alfredo Arquillano Jr., along with local officials, teachers, and students all over from Camotes Islands. (CEBU NEWS)
