CEBU, Philippines — Residents of Barangays Sangat and Lantawan, San Fernando town, Cebu now have better road access with the opening of the P62.48 million concrete road project by the Cebu provincial government last Friday, August 9.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia led the inauguration of the Sangat-Lantawan project, wherein the 2.68 kilometers long and 6.10-meters wide road section was newly-concreted.
In a report by Sugbo News, Capitol’s official media arm, the barangay captains of Sangat and Lantawan expressed their gratitude to the Capitol for taking action on their concerns of the road.
The road, as reported, was once a rough road and became dusty during the summer season and muddy during the rainy days.
Besides improving its features, the P62.48 million road also links the two barangays, which serves as an alternative route for motorists.
This road improvement aims to help decongest the traffic situation along the national road in San Fernando town.
During the inauguration, Garcia was joined by First District Board Member Raul Bacaltos and San Fernando Mayor Mytha Canoy.
In addition, Canoy expressed her gratitude to the Cebu provincial government led by Garcia. — (FREEMAN)
