MANILA, Philippines — During their regular session yesterday, the members of the Mandaue City Council approved on third and final reading an ordinance granting a ?3,000 anniversary bonus to all city government personnel, who are occupying elective, appointive, and/or regular positions.
They also approved on third and final reading the three proposed ordinances granting additional honoraria for job order employees (?57 per day), Barangay Health Workers (?1,200 per month) and Clean and Green Workers (?600 per month).
The four ordinances are authored by Councilor Marie Immaline Cortes Zafra, chairwoman of the committee on finance.
The ?3,000 bonus will be given on the city’s 55th Charter Day anniversary this August 30.
“It is undeniable that the city officials and employees have made Mandaue what it is today. It is just fitting to acknowledge the efforts of these city officials and employees who made Mandaue City a livable society by granting them an anniversary bonus,” part of Ordinance No. 43-2024 read.
Zafra said that since its cityhood 55 years ago, Mandaue City has evolved into a highly-urbanized city and the future primary source of high-value manufactured consumer products.
Ordinance No. 42-2024 seeks to grant ?57 increase in the daily wage of job-order personnel for services rendered from April 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024.
“The total amount of honorarium differential should not exceed ?5,000. Thereafter, the daily honorarium for services actually rendered by the Job Order Personnel shall revert back to the original amount ?435,” the measure read.
Ordinance No. 41-2024 seeks to grant ?1,200 increase in the monthly honorarium of all BHWs. With the approval, the BHWs in Mandaue City will get ?4,500 monthly honorarium.
Meanwhile, Ordinance No. 42-2024 also seeks a ?600 increase in the monthly honorarium of Clean and Green Personnel and Barangay Health and Nutrition Workers.
The increase, however, is only temporary and specific for the period covering from April 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024.
The four ordinances state that the funds shall be charged from the 2024 Annual Budget of the city.
