CEBU, Philippines — A tribute to Cebuano sports athletes who brought pride to the island will be the highlight of the July 16 closing ceremony of Palarong Pambansa 2024, which will be hosted by the Cebu provincial government.
The event promises to be a spectacular celebration of athletic achievements and Cebu's rich culture, at the Cebu City Sports Center.
According to Sugbo News, Capitol’s official media arm, Governor Gwen Garcia is thrilled to host this significant occasion.
"Mao na ang mapuno sa atong pride of place," said Garcia, emphasizing the importance of honoring these athletes.
Cebu Province is hosting the Palarong Pambansa 2024 closing ceremony, which it promises to also be a celebration of Cebu’s vibrant art and culture.
The Capitol had pledged P8 million for the closing ceremony.
Moreover, the ceremony will feature a special recognition of the participating athletes, highlighted by an original song composed just for them.
Awhel Paz, ABS-CBN’s former creative director, also unveiled his visionary plans for the ceremony.
"I want Cebu to be known worldwide," Paz said, in presenting his production plans to Garcia and Acting Cebu City Mayor Raymond Garcia.
As reported, the key feature of the closing ceremony will be an outdoor video display that transforms in “dynamic 3D visuals", "promising a spectacular visual feast for attendees.”
Kapamilya singer Darren Espanto is also set to perform, adding star power to the event. (CEBU NEWS)
