CEBU, Philippines — Around P13 million worth of Capitol-funded infrastructure projects was inaugurated in Tudela town, Camotes Islands last June 26, 2024.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia was joined by Tudela Mayor Greman “Jojo” Solante in the inauguration of the projects that included a driveway with three gates around the municipal building worth P5 million; another P5 million worth LED wall installed at the town’s plaza; and a P3 million perimeter fence for the municipal compound.

In a post by Sugbo News, Capitol’s official media arm, the driveway project ensures the safety of the municipal officials, employees, and the public who go in and out of the municipal compound for transactions.

The funding for these projects was pooled from the various financial support given by the Cebu provincial government to the town after several key Capitol meetings.

On the same day, a P6.577 million single-barrel reinforced concrete box culvert was also inaugurated in Brgy. Mc. Arthur in Tudela.

Solante expressed gratitude for the governor’s support to the town’s infrastructural development.

He mentioned that despite Tudela being ranked among the least progressive towns in the province, the collaboration with the Capitol has made his constituents feel the progress in their town.

Fifth district Board Members Red Duterte and Mike Villamor, Tudela Vice Mayor Erwin Yu, and municipal councilors were also present during the event. Mayor Edgar Rama and Vice Mayor Dina Rama of the neighboring town of Poro also showed their support.

Earlier this month, Garcia also approved P9 million worth of development projects and financial assistance for Tudela town.

From the P9 million, Solante told The Freeman that the P6 million from Capitol’s development fund will be utilized for two development projects in his town while the remaining P3 million from the Quick Response Fund of the province will be used to help residents affected by the El Niño. –/ATO (FREEMAN)
