CEBU, Philippines — As a unified effort to ward off criminality in the area, Inayawan police personnel and barangay public safety officers (BPSO) have intensified their Oplan Bakal Sita and Oplan Disiplina campaigns.
The kickoff program last June 7, 2024 was led by Police Captain Yves Montejo, Deputy Station Commander for Administration under direct supervision of Police Major Jeciree Basitao, station commander.
Together with them were PSMS Edilberto Gabucan Jr., PSSg Mary Claire Dela Victoria and Pat Marianito Isuga Jr, as well as three members of the Task Force Kasaligan, and five members of the Community Information Service-Support Group (CIS-SG).
The activity was also attended by 25 BPSO from Barangays Kinasang-an, Inayawan, Pob. Pardo, Cogon-Pardo, Basak-Pardo and Bulacao, including their GAD Staff.
The Oplan Bakal Sita and Oplan Disiplina, which will be implemented every night, aims to strictly implement the curfew on minors, as well as prevent smoking in public places, and loitering, and to also enforce City Ordinances and many others.
Its goal also includes checking contraband, illegal firearms, and other deadly weapons, as a preventive measure to address crimes.
During the first night of implementation, around 15 individuals underwent inspection and 50 establishments were visited.
Further, Inayawan Police Station is optimistic in the implementation of the program since all barangays within the area of responsibility have been helping in maintaining the peace and order.
The Police Station 7 personnel were able to encourage all the BPSOs to join and enforce the laws and ordinances and are glad that all barangay captains are cooperating. — (FREEMAN)
