“Robbers” guns to be submitted for testing

CEBU, Philippines — The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) will conduct ballistics testing on the weapons of the two alleged robbers killed in the encounter last Saturday night to see if they were used in other shooting incidents in Bohol.

BPPO spokesman Police Lieutenant Colonel Norman Nuez said that the two alleged robbers died after they resisted the operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the BPPO who conducted a hot pursuit operation in Purok 1, Barangay Anislag, Corella town, Saturday night.

Those slain were found with two .45 cal. pistols.

Their group of robbers is reportedly based in Tagbilaran City but also operate in the neighboring towns. The police are still looking for other members of the group. — (FREEMAN)
