4 eyed as POIs in trader’s death

CEBU, Philippines — The Dumanjug police are now looking into four persons of interest who may be the ones who hacked to death a 51-year-old livestock trader in Barangay Kanyuko in Dumanjug.

The four were allegedly seen walking towards Mantalongon where they were seen on CCTV footage.

The businessman was identified as Leonardo “Adot” Macario, 51, a resident of the said place. Early morning the other day, Macario and his son left for a livestock market on their individual motorcycles. After he failed to arrive at the market his son went back to look for him and found him lying dead on the side of the road with many hack wounds in his head and body.

His assailants had blocked his path with a log so they could attack him. His bag containing ?500,000 was missing.

The municipal government is closely cooperating with the police in this incident. Dumanjug City Mayor Efren Guntrano “Gun-Gun” Gica has announced a ?200,000 reward for those who can point to the persons responsible for the killing. (CEBU NEWS)
