Budlaan wins best Lupon Awards anew
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City’s Barangay Budlaan moves an inch closer to defending its national title after winning the regional level competition of the Lupong Tagapmayapa Incentive Awards 2024.
Budlaan bested all the barangays in the country in last year’s Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) and hopes to duplicate the feat this year. Budlaan Barangay Captain Nerissa Antolihao had to hurdle a more intensive assessment before going into the national competition.
It needed to beat Mandaue City’s Barangay Subangdaku and Barangay Basak in Lapu-Lapu City in the regional contest before securing the ticket to the national competition, This year, Budlaan again bested Barangay Subangdaku of Mandaue City and Sta. Rosa of Lapu-Lapu City in the regional level among Highly Urbanized Cities.
Barangay Taloto in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, bags this year’s regional trophy for the component city category.(CEBU NEWS)
Barangay Ibabao, Cordova, Cebu topped in the 1st to 3rd class municipality category while Villahermosa, Tudela, Cebu bagged the top regional spot for 4th to 6th class municipality category.
The top barangays in the region will represent Central Visayas in the national competition.
