CEBU, Philippines — At least 10 colleges and universities in Central Visayas are currently applying for an increase in tuition and other school fees for academic year 2024-2025.

Maria Antonette Reyes, Commission on Higher Education-7 program specialist, said these schools are still in the process of complying with the documentary requirements of their respective applications.

She said that colleges or universities that wish to apply for the increase in tuition and other school fees had until yesterday to do so.

She said that by next month, CHED-7 will forward the applications as they would still be subjected to consultations and deliberation among the CHED en banc members.

For school year 2023-2024, CHED had approved the adjustment to either the tuition or the other school fees, or both, to 19 colleges and universities in Central Visayas, 14 of which were from Cebu.

This was announced on the Facebook page of the Department of Education based on the “Memorandum from the Office of the Executive Director” No.  680 series of 2023.  — /RHM (FREEMAN)
