P4 million worth of Marijuana seized in Toledo City
CEBU, Philippines — A 2,500 square meter marijuana plantation was raided by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operation Unit-7 in Sitio Kalugtugan, Barangay Pangamihan and Barangay Climaco, Toledo City, Thursday afternoon on May 2,2024.
The plantation had 10,500 fully-grown marijuana plants worth P2.1 million and 15 kilos of dried leaves worth P1.8 million.
Also seized were 500 seedlings worth P20,000 and three kilos of seeds worth P75,000, which were placed in a hut.
On the other hand, police were not able to arrest the people behind the marijuana plantation operation.
The uprooted Marijuana plants, seedlings, and dried leaves were burned, while the whole marijuana plantation was sprayed with herbicide to prevent possible regrowth.
The operation was carried out after the operatives received information that there was a marijuana plantation in the area.
