Fireman chokes burglar to death

CEBU, Philippines — A suspected thief was killed by a fireman after he allegedly attempted to break into his house in Barangay Inayagan, Naga City on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

The fireman was identified as FO1 Terencio Piñas Lape, 33 years old, a member of the Bureau of Fire Protection, and is designated at the Cebu Business Park Sub-station, while the victim was identified as Christian Nuñez.

The investigation conducted by the Naga City Police Station revealed that the victim, who was reportedly armed with a knife, broke into the house of the suspect.

Nuñez took the fireman’s laptop, which was worth P18, 000, but before he could leave, the suspect noticed him and grabbed his arm, disarming him with the knife he carried.

The victim allegedly tried to bite the suspect, but the suspect choked him to death.

He was brought to the nearest hospital but he was declared dead while the suspect was detained at the station for proper filing of charges against him. — (FREEMAN)
