2 arrested, P2.7M drugs seized in Duljo Fatima

CEBU, Philippines — An e-bike driver and another motorcycle driver were nabbed with over P2.7 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation past 9 p.m. on Feb. 1, 2024, at Sitio Black Cats, Duljo Fatima, Cebu City.

The suspects were identified as Rimark Espinosa Canoy, 31, an e-bike driver, and Oscar Togino Abanes, 22, a driver of a motorcycle ride and delivery hailing service. Both suspects are residents of Sitio Mansanitas, Duljo Fatima, Cebu City.

Members of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 7 (RPDEU-7) confiscated from the suspects shabu weighing 400 grams, amounting to P2,720,000.

Authorities disclosed that they had been monitoring the two for more or less than a month before the operation.

In an investigation conducted by the arresting officers, it was found out that the two operate in Cebu and could allegedly dispose 1000 grams of shabu weekly.

It was also learned that the suspects have contacts inside the city jail.

The suspects are currently at the detention facility of RPDEU-7 for the proper filing of charges against them. (CEBU NEWS)
