CEBU, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has earned a high satisfaction ranking from the public, particularly from the Visayas with a 54 percent rate.
Lieutenant General Benedict Arevalo, Commander of AFP's Visayas Command (VisCom), expressed gratitude to the public for the highest satisfaction rating obtained by the AFP in areas where the survey was conducted.
"This is an early Christmas gift to us from our people here in the Visayas region. We are very happy to know that most of our people here are satisfied with our performance. As such, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our people in the region for recognizing the efforts and sacrifices of their soldiers," said Lt General Arevalo.
The OCTA Research Group released the results of the Satisfaction Survey they conducted where the AFP earned an 85 percent satisfaction rating.
In the areas where the survey was conducted, Visayas had the highest rating with 54 percent of the respondents who answered 'very satisfied' and 39 percent answered 'somewhat satisfied'.
Mindanao followed with 43 percent 'very satisfied' and 49 percent 'somewhat satisfied'.
In Luzon, 19 percent are 'very satisfied' and 64 percent are 'somewhat satisfied' with AFP, while in Metro Manila 6 percent are 'very satisfied' and 66 percent are 'somewhat satisfied'.
"The result of the survey will serve as an added boost to the morale of our soldiers. This will motivate us to further improve the performance of our mandate of ensuring the safety and security of our people and win the peace in the Visayas region," added Arevalo.
As such, the VisCom reiterated their unwavering commitment to the people of the Visayas region.
"Our security efforts will never falter. Rest assured that we will never get tired and we will always find ways to improve, to better serve and protect our people, and promote their well-being", said Arevalo. — (FREEMAN)
