Police following up on leads in Pardo bakery shooting
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is working on the leads in the recent incident wherein a riding-in-tandem opened fire on a bakeshop in Tabura Street, Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
However, police did not reveal specifics yet as they are still thoroughly looking into the identities of the suspects.
The shooting was caught on CCTV and has gone viral online. No one was hurt in the incident, including the man who was shown in the video standing outside of the bakery during the shooting.
On the other hand, it has caused concern to the bakery’s owner and workers. Police Lt. Col. Janette Rafter, Deputy City Director for Operation and spokesperson of the Cebu City Police Office, said the incident has also caused alarm to the people residing around the area.
Rafter said CCPO director, Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, wants to have the incident resolved immediately.
Based on police investigation, the man who was standing outside the bakery as shown in the CCTV, was not the target of the riding-in-tandem, but they were actually targeting the store.
Lt. Col. Rafter clarified that it was not indiscriminate firing, and the intention was to shoot at the establishment. (CEBU NEWS)
