Park, museum eyed in Brgy Parian
CEBU, Philippines — A heritage park and a museum will soon rise in Barangay Parian to add more tourist attraction to the barangay.
Cebu City Vice Mayor Raymond Garcia said they are currently working on establishing a park and a museum at the area where the Parian Fire Substation is located.
Garcia along with Parian Barangay Captain Lucita Lazarte inspected the area yesterday. Garcia said the old building currently used as fire substation will be converted into a museum.
“Ato ning limpyohon tanan…Mao na atong tuyo, atong gitan-aw, gi-inspect kun kaya ba nato ug unsa atong timeline, time frame kay para mabuhat na nato kani nga project,” Garcia said.
The said fire substation will be transferred to the South Road Property (SRP). Meanwhile, Garcia said the city government is also set to rehabilitate the Heritage of Cebu Monument fronting the Parian fire substation.
Garcia said the monument was a project of his father, former mayor Alvin Garcia back in 2000. When the rehabilitation of the said monument is done along with the heritage park, Garcia said, it should already be guarded 24 hours to prevent vandalism and pilferage.
“Kani man gyu’y sentro diri Pari-an, mao man gyud ni gi-anhi sa mga tawo, so kinahanglan nindot gyud nato ni nga pagkabuhat. As I have said this is part of the ordinance nga kani tibuok diri is part of the heritage district of Cebu City,” Garcia said. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
