Lapu-Lapu City Government bares fiesta activities
CEBU, Philippines — The Lapu-Lapu City government has released Monday the religious and social activities of their upcoming Fiesta celebration.
On November 8, there will be a Fiesta sa Lapu-Lapu Job Fair through the city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in partnership with MEZ2 Estate, Aboitiz InfraCapital, and the Department of Labor and Employment-7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Outlets Pueblo Verde, MEZ2 Estate, Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
There are 27 companies and employers joining the event.
On November 9, a Tourism Night will be held at Hoopsdome and there will be a Hospitality Trade Fair, Search for Tourism Ambassador and Ambassadress 2023, and launching of Lapu-Lapu City Tourism Virtual Map.
On November 10, there will be a Senior Citizens Night, MSME Stakeholders Forum and Expo, and Lapu-Lapu City College Night.
On November 11, there will be SK Night, Fiesta Bingo Social and Libreng Change Oil.
On November 12, there will be an ABC Night and Fluvial Parade/Procession.
For the fluvial parade, at 5 a.m. there will be a Holy Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, Marigondon. After the Mass, a motorcade from Marigondon going to Roro Port in Cordova at 7:30 a.m. will follow.
Expected arrival at 10 a.m. of the Pilgrim Image at the NSDR Parish National Shrine and followed by the opening salvo of the Novena-Mass.
November 13 is the Vendor's Night.
November 14 will be the Bb. Lapu-Lapu Pre-pageant (swimsuit, long gown and talent) at the City Auditorium.
On November 15, there will be Presentation of Candidates Prince, Princess and Mrs. Lapu-Lapu and Fiesta Medical Mission with Watsons.
Activities for November 16 are Department of Education Night; November 16 to 26 is Mithing Oponganon, a Fiesta Art Exhibit Year 2; November 16 to 17 will be the Kadiwa Retail Fair and Agri-Fishery Fair.
On November 17, the Government Employees Night and Last Counting for Prince, Princess and Mrs. Lapu-Lapu will be held.
November 18 is the Lapu-Lapu City Private Schools Association Night at the City Auditorium and Kapuso Fiesta Night.
On November 19 is Garbo sa Lapu-Lapu Festival.
On November 20 is Bb. Lapu-Lapu Coronation Night at Hoopsdome. There will also be a Solemn Procession at 4:30 a.m. on the said date.
On November 21 is the Coronation Night Prince, Princess and Mrs. Lapu-Lapu and Bamboo Concert. There will also be a Pontifical Mass at 10 a.m. by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma.
On November 22 is the LGBTQIA Night Dyosa ng Lapu-Lapu 2023, Queen Size Edition at City Auditorium.
On November 25, is the Hubo at 8 a.m.
This year’s fiesta theme is “Journeying Together with Mary in our BEC towards a Synodal Church” or “Maria, Kauban sa Paglawig sa BEC ngadto sa Sinodohanong Simbahan”. — (FREEMAN)
