PSA reminds final leg of PhilSys registration

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  For those who have not yet registered with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has reminded them to register now as they are now on its final leg.

The PSA emphasizes that PhilSys registration remains easy and convenient at fixed registration centers nationwide.

Filipinos can bring their supporting documents and visit any registration center, as listed at https://philsys.gov.ph/registration-center, for the validation of demographic information and the capture of biometric data.

Apart from that, PSA has also done different innovations to reach those in remote their locations.

Recently, PSA launched the “PhilSys On Boat.”

In this groundbreaking effort, PhilSys registration officers are taking to the waters, using traditional outrigger canoes known as “bangka” as mobile registration sites.

These boats not only transport personnel and equipment but also serve as the means to reach the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA), including far-flung coastal barangays that are only accessible by boat.

“We are now in the final leg of the PhilSys registration, and our utmost priority is to reach every Filipino, even in the most challenging and remote locations. Our dedicated registration personnel are embarking on these bangkas, navigating house-to-house, and braving adverse weather conditions to ensure that every Filipino is registered to PhilSys,” shared Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General.

PSA stressed that its unwavering commitment to ensuring that PhilSys is available and accessible to every Filipino, regardless of their location, serves as a testament to the organization’s dedication to providing inclusive and efficient government services.

So far, a total of 81,492,399 Filipinos have already registered to PhilSys as of October 27, 2023.

For those that have not yet received their PhilID, registered individuals can check the availability of their ePhilID at https://appt.philsys.gov.ph and schedule a visit to any PhilSys Registration Center for its collection.

The ePhilID can also be downloaded through a secure link provided in an official text message from the PSA.

PSA reminded everyone that both the PhilID and ePhilID are valid proofs of identity and age that should be accepted in government offices and private establishments across the Philippines. (CEBU NEWS)
