CEBU, Philippines — The newly-renovated Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) is set open with its enhanced facilities, just in time for the Palarong Pambansa 2024.

In a press conference yesterday, Mayor Michael Rama said that he wanted to be on top of the renovation, saying that everything must be comprehensively attended to.

“I want the whole grandstand expanded. I want to look at the whole area nga dili magsige ug tan-aw ang mga estudyante if there’s a movement, and the whole area as a retractable grandstand,” said Rama.

He added that he also wanted to put up a ‘welcome’ signage to emphasize the center’s “elegance” to the people that will be ready for the Palarong Pambansa 2024.

Last May, the CCSC was closed again a year after it was reopened coming off from the pandemic – this time for renovations.

The sudden closure of the sports facility has saddened many athletes, especially those preparing for the Palarong Pambansa and other events.

That time, the CCSC was also preparing for their summer clinics with the hope of raising income to make up for their losses during the COVID-19 pandemic. — (FREEMAN)
