National Bike Day Awards nomination until October 31
CEBU, Philippines — The Inter-agency Technical Working Group for Active Transport (IATWG-AT) led by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has set October 31, 2023 as deadline for submission of entries for the National Bike Day 2023 Awards and Recognition.
Organizers are aiming to highlight the best local practices and initiatives of different Local Government Units in this year's awards. With this, the active transport sector is expected to express their views and nominate the best local government unit’s active transport practices and initiatives.
DOTr’s Active Transport Project Office alongside DILG will be recognizing and honoring LGUs that have made substantial contributions to creating safe infrastructure and implementing programs that benefit cyclists.
The National Bike Day awards and recognition is set on November 24 to 26 in Iloilo City.
Aside from the awarding of the LGUs and community recognition, there will also be a bike expo, vintage bike exhibit, band performance, criterium races for adults and kiddie fun race, active mobility forum, a bike fashion show, food festival, and night ride. — (FREEMAN)
