Land developers, experts to discuss housing issues
CEBU, Philippines — Hundreds of developers, policymakers, suppliers, and various housing industry stakeholders are set to converge in Cebu City next month for the 31st National Developers Convention 2023 on October 5 and 6, 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Acuzar along with Pag-IBIG CEO Marilene C. Acosta, Senator JV Ejercito, chairman of the Senate Committee on Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement along with Congressman Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez, chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development and NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan are expected to attend the event as speakers.
Multi-awarded Cebuano industrial designer Kenneth Cobonpue, celebrity engineer Slater Young, Hanky Lee of The Henry Hotels; and Cyndy T. Jarabata, CEO of TAJARA Hospitality Group, are also expected to add spice to the event.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. will deliver a video message highlighting the administration’s flagship housing program, the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program (4PH).
This year’s edition carries the theme: LOKAL NA BAI: Building Nationwide Growth Through Regional Development.
Organizers of this year's convention expect around 400 developers, policymakers, suppliers, and various housing industry stakeholders in attendance.
The convention will explore innovative approaches to spur economic growth at the grassroots level, all while contributing to the broader national development objectives.
The first day will be zooming on issues and concerns that affect the housing industry while the second day will be about regional success stories in real estate development.
Emphasizing the convention's regional growth focus, several local government unit leaders, including Hon. Jonas C. Cortes of Mandaue City, Hon. Alfredo Abelardo “Albee'' B. Benitez of Bacolod City, and Hon. Joseph R. Inton of Hermosa, Bataan, will share their respective LGUs' best practices.
Other prominent figures also expected to share their inputs include Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog, President of the University of Asia and the Pacific; Atty. Angel Aguila, Director V Housing and Real Estate Development Bureau of DHSUD; Atty. Gerardo Sirios, Administrator of the Land Registration Authority; Dir. Anna Liza F. Bonagua from the Bureau of Local Government Development, DILG; and Ms. Ma. Corazon Halili-Dichosa, Executive Director of the Philippine Board of Investments, will address the housing roadmap for the country.
