Two most wanted persons arrested
CEBU, Philippines — At least two most wanted persons were arrested Sunday afternoon under the Oplan Pagtugis of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7.
The CIDG-7 Cebu City Field Unit led by Police Lieutenant Col. Randy Korret served the warrants of arrest against the two accused of different charges.
First arrested in Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City was Jefferson Tapic Sistoso, 44, number 8 in regional level and number 7 in provincial level, a restaurant chef and a resident of sitio Cadulang II, Marigondon Lapu-Lapu City.
Judge Christine Muga-Abad, presiding judge at the Regional Trial Court Branch 70 of Lapu-Lapu City, issued the warrant of arrest for sexual assault in relation to Section 5b of Republic Act 7610.
On the same day, Anito Jayme Quimbo, Jr. alias GVD, 44, was arrested at Thirsty Compound, Banilad, Cebu City. Quimbo – ranks eight on most wanted person list in regional level and third in provincial level – is a resident of Sitio Buyong, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City.
Judge Rosario Evelyn Roldan Sistosa-Singco, presiding judge of RTC Branch 71 of Lapu-Lapu City, issued the warrant of arrest for incestuous rape penalized under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code.
Korret said that an informant reported that the accused quit his job and left his original address in Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, and went into hiding in Danao City, Lapu-Lapu City and Cebu City.
The court did not grant bail for the accused’s temporary liberty. — (FREEMAN)
