Victims of violence to get financial aid

CEBU, Philippines — Women from Bogo City who are victims of violence may now receive financial assistance from their local government unit, after the city has passed an ordinance providing cash support to them.

Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) victims are entitled P10,000 worth of livelihood financial assistance from the city for them to have an opportunity to start over.

“Kining assistance pinansyal, pasiunang tabang aron makabaton usab ug financial freedom ang mga biktima ug ang ilahang mga anak kansa nag-depende kanila,” according to the City Government of Bogo, in its official media account.

Aside from the financial assistance, the LGU, through its City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), will also lend interventions to the victims guiding them in their new life.

“Dili lamang kutob sa paghatag sa assistance ang atong ipaabot nga tabang sa mga kababayen-an kay sa ilahang pagsugod ug pagpadayon sa ilahang bag-ong kinabuhi ug panginabuhian sila padayon usab agakon aron masiguro nga molahutay kini,” the LGU said.
