Mother, 26, her two children stabbed dead in their home

CEBU, Philippines —  A 26-year-old woman and her two children, aged 5 months old and 3 years old, were found at about 7 p.m. Wednesday (August 30) to have been stabbed dead inside their house at a hilly farm of Barangay Pupua in Catbalogan City.

Initial report from the Catbalogan City police stated that the father, identified as Edito Candes, a pedicab driver, arrived home that time only to find the dead bodies of his wife, Rhea, and their two minor children.

Edito reported the gruesome massacre to the police who quickly responded to the crime scene, about 300 meters from the national highway.

Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO) director, Police Colonel Peter Limbauan, immediately ordered a thorough investigation on the massacre that was probably carried out by one or more perpetrators.

The Catbalogan City police said Edito and his family were caretakers of the farm, where their house is located, owned by a certain Arnulfo.
