CEBU, Philippines — At least three more barangays in Cebu City have been declared as drug cleared.
This was disclosed by Mayor Michael Rama’s special assistant, Ernest Herrera, on social media.
Herrera, who is overseeing the City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (COSAP), said the latest barangays declared as drug-cleared are Cambinocot, Kasambagan and Zapatera.
The declaration of such came from the Regional Oversight Committee on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program, according to Herrera.
This now brings to a total of 25 out of the 80 barangays in the City of Cebu as drug-cleared.
Other barangays declared as drug-cleared include Budlaan, Kamagayan, Agsungot, Binaliw, Tabunan, Punta Princesa, Kalubihan, Adlaon, Basak Pardo, Buot Taup, Kinasang-an, Lusaran, San Antonio, Pamutan and Parian, Sudlon 1 and 2, Toong, Sto. Niño, Sapangdaku, and Sinsin.
“Our gratitude to our very supportive partners DILG Cebu City, CCPO, PDEA, COSAP, CADAC and the Coalition of Anti-Drug Abuse Communities of Cebu City,” Herrera said.
Just like in the past, the newly declared drug-cleared barangays are expected to get incentives from the city government for their efforts in keeping its barangays safe and free from drug addiction.
The rest of the barangays in Cebu City are also being challenged to step up in their efforts against illegal drugs. — (FREEMAN)
