Cebu City prepares early for Palaro 2024
CEBU, Philippines — To show its seriousness and sincerity in hosting the Palarong Pambansa 2024, the Cebu City government will begin its preparations even if it still has a year before the annual sporting event kicks off.
During the city government's flag raising yesterday morning at Plaza Sugbo, Mayor Michael Rama announced that all those involved will gather on Friday to discuss about their preparations for the upcoming national event.
According to the mayor, there is a need to prepare early for the national event since the last time it was held in Cebu City was several years ago already.
The mayor said that all departments of the city should help and support the event so that it will be “beautiful, successful and unforgettable.”
Rama revealed that it was not easy for them to become the next host of the national event, so it will be a joint-event with the provincial government, and the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue and Talisay.
The mayor has also directed to make a song for the event that would add color and life to the Palaro, and to present it to the city council for their concurrence. — (FREEMAN)
