CEBU, Philippines — More than 1,700 youth who are hoping to join the elite Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) will troop to the University of Cebu (UC) – Banilad Campus today for the admission examination.
PNPA cadets are currently in Cebu to facilitate the admission examination of those regular examinees who are registered online, cross-examinees, who are assigned to a different testing center but are in Cebu, and those the walk-in applicants who did not register online.
Those interested in taking the examination must bring their birth certificate, BMI form signed by the doctor indicating they are “physically fit” to go through the intense training at the PNPA, six 2x2 pictures with name tag, and a valid ID.
For those who do not have an ID card may secure a police clearance.
Those who are eligible to take the exam should be 18 to 22 years old before July 1, 2023.
The PNPA cadets clarified that there is no longer an issue of hazing in the academy, since it is no longer allowed there.
They added that the implementation of discipline within the academy does not include hazing.
When asked about the controversies some senior officials of the Philippine National Police are involved in recently, the cadets said that they are focused on their journey in the academy and would not want to be affected by it.
The cadets said the advantage of entering the PNPA is that they will be given allowances while studying and that it will help them to be more disciplined and better peacekeeping officers.
The cadets also assured that, when they graduate, they will be a good example to the people and would serve the people. — (FREEMAN)
