CEBU, Philippines — A public school teacher and his alleged lover were arrested Saturday afternoon after they were allegedly found both naked inside an inn in Barangay Poblacion, Compostela City.
The 45-year-old teacher handles a Grade 1 class, while her alleged paramour is a mechanic, 47, from Tayud, Liloan.
The names of the parties involved are withheld due to the sensitivity of the case.
During the investigation at the Compostela Police Station, the teacher attempted to poison herself and drank liniment oil.
The Compostela emergency response team immediately brought her to the hospital. She is already out of danger.
According to the husband, he already noticed a long time ago that his wife was chatting with another man on her mobile phone.
But last Saturday, he followed her to Cebu City because she was reportedly attending a wedding.
His wife reportedly did not stay long in the event and took another car – this time going to Compostela, where she allegedly got off near an inn.
From there, she allegedly met a man, and they went inside an inn.
It was at this time that the husband went to the Compostela Police Station to ask for assistance to arrest his wife with her lover.
At the inn, the police personnel were not immediately able to enter the room due to a second lock, but they allegedly saw the suspects immediately trying to put their clothes on.
Both the teacher and her lover are currently detained at the detention facility of the Compostela Police Station pending the filing of the criminal complaint for adultery.
