CEBU, Philippines — A money remittance collector asked for help after the money he was transporting scattered along the South Coastal Road at the South Road Properties in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City yesterday morning.
According to the collector, a resident of Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, he was on his way to Mandaue City when the zipper of his back pack containing more or less P3 million to P4 million cash suddenly broke.
When he looked at the side mirror of his motorcycle, the money was already scattered on the road and some motorists were racing to pick up the money.
The collector had asked motorists to return the money but others continued to pick it up and sped away.
Someone turned over the money in Carbon Police Station amounting to P13,500.
During inventory, only P2,083,110 of the remaining money was recovered by their supervisor and around half of it was lost.
