CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu City government has unveiled its online services platform to make transactions easier and faster.

The launch of the online services platform marks a milestone in its drive to transform Cebu City into a more connected urban center.

This innovative initiative aims to streamline administrative processes, enhance efficiency, and offer convenience, according to the City’s Management Information and Computer Services (MICS) headed by Engr. Dax Arcilla.

“We are committed to leveraging technology for the benefit of our citizens. The Cebu City Online Services platform is a testament to our dedication to providing efficient and accessible services. We believe this will significantly enhance the overall experience of our residents and businesses,” Arcilla said.

MICS said this online platform is a “user-friendly” digital hub.

It allows individuals and organizations to access a wide range of government and public services from the comfort of their homes or offices.

Residents may pay taxes and fees online, schedule appointments, apply for permits and licenses, and obtain government documents.

“Gone are the days of long queues and tiresome paperwork; now, the citizens of Cebu City can handle their bureaucratic needs with just a few clicks”, MICS’ PR team said.

The online services can be accessed thru mics.cebucity.gov.ph/eservices

The introduction of this digital platform is in line with the city’s vision of becoming a smarter and more connected urban center.

Aside from streamlining administrative procedures, it also paves the way for more innovation and economic growth.

More to it, it is said to be a way to reduce red tape and simplify processes.

“Cebu City is poised to attract more investment and enhance its reputation as a business-friendly destination”, added MICS’ statement.

Meanwhile, the City’s PIO also shared that the City Planning and Development Office’s zoning division had conducted a simulation for the online application of a locational clearance. This is also in accordance with the Ease of Doing Business Act.

“The purpose of the simulation is to test if the system is workable, manageable, and easy for the clientele.”

At the moment, CPDO is still accepting walk-in clients.

With WIFI access points in most of the barangays in Cebu City, this online service becomes more valuable to its residents.
