BI now accepts WEG payment for minors online Budlaan wins best-performing lupon anew
CEBU, Philippines — Barangay Budlaan in Cebu City scores four-peat as the best-performing lupon at the city level of the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards 2023.
Budlaan headed by barangay captain Gino Antolihao bested 17 other barangays shortlisted for the LTIA 2023-City level by the DILG.
Barangay Sto. Niño headed by barangay captain Lourdes Ramirez came out second and Barangay Bacayan led by barangay captain Zenaida Colina at third spot.
The rest of the finalists honored by DILG-Cebu City include barangays of Agsungot, Guba, Inayawan, Kalunasan, Kasambagan, Lahug, Lorega San Miguel, Luz, Parian, Paril, Sambag 2, San Antonio and Sirao as disclosed by the Liga ng mga Barangay in Cebu City.
After the city level, Budlaan also hopes to defend its regional title and hopefully get to the national level.
Meanwhile, Barangay Sto. Niño may have missed the title in the LTIA, it also had something else to celebrate after coming out as one of the winners in the Garbo sa Kabarangayan.
A total of 28 barangays showcased their products, tourist spots, and other features in their barangays with barangay Sto. Niño coming out as the most interactive booth.
Barangay Sirao, for their part, was awarded the best booth.
Barangays Sirao and Sto. Niño beat the likes of T. Padilla, Duljo and Pung-ol Sibugay for the said awards.
Mayor Michael Rama hopes that in the next GSK, all of the 80 barangays in the city will already participate. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol/GMR
