Pardo soon to have new health center

CEBU, Philippines — Barangay Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City barangay captain Arcadio “Archie” Araw-araw III revealed that they will soon have a good health center along its barangay hall.

The said building has three floors funded by the Office of then congressman Rodrigo “Bebot” Abellanosa.

The ground floor of the said building will serve as a parking area for barangay vehicles while the second floor will be a health clinic.

The third floor will serve as a private clinic by private doctors but will be offering free services to the poor Pardohanons.

Araw-Araw said he already got commitments from private doctors who are his personal friends to help in the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) in the barangay.

The project was momentarily stopped due to some papers that are now being processed.

It was learned that the said building only lacks the “finishing touches” for it to be used already.

Should this be done already, Araw-Araw said, they will be one of the first barangays to be able to avail of the UHC.

As per DOH, with UHC, all Filipinos are guaranteed equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare goods and services, and protected against financial risk.

The UHC, accordingly, helps ensure every Filipino is healthy, protected from health hazards and risks, and has access to affordable, quality, and readily available health service that is suitable to their needs. — Sanden J. Anadia/GMR (FREEMAN)
